  • We know life happens! Because we are a small, family-run guest ranch rather than a giant corporation, sudden vacancies hit us hard, but we always aim to be fair and accommodating.

    • 5 Days or More Notice: We will happily reschedule your stay to any available future date. If a reschedule just won't work for you, we will issue a full refund.

    • Between 24 Hours and 5 Days Notice: Because it is very difficult to fill a cabin at the last minute, changes within this window will incur a fee equal to your first night's stay, with the remaining balance refunded. (If we manage to re-book the cabin to another guest, we'll gladly waive the fee).

    • Less than 24 Hours Notice (or No-Show): Cancellations, reschedules, or no-shows within 24 hours of arrival are non-refundable.

    Ultimately, our goal is to get you out here to relax. If something comes up, text or call us at 780-614-0395 or email shepherd@eweneek.ca and we will figure it out together.

    • Check-In: Anytime after 4:00 PM.

    • Check-Out: By 11:00 AM. (If you need a bit of flexibility due to driving conditions or flight times, reach out a couple of days in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you).

  • We love animals, but we have a strict No Pets Policy across all our cabins and the property. Thank you for understanding!

  • We have over 10km of beautiful private trails meandering through our fields and 50-acre forest for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. Please note that our trails are natural boreal terrain and are use at your own risk. Nature can be unpredictable, so lace up some proper footwear, keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, and enjoy the scenery safely!

  • We are located north of the Beaver River near Fork Lake, Alberta, just off Hwy 867 right in the heart of Lac La Biche County. It’s a peaceful, dark-sky country escape that is a straightforward, scenic 2-hour drive northeast of Edmonton.   • To give you enough time to truly unplug, explore the trails, and catch the Northern Lights without rushing, we have a two-night minimum stay on all bookings.

  • Each cabin has High Speed Wi-Fi. Cell service in the immediate area is spotty.

  • Where is the nearest place to grab groceries, fuel, or supplies? While we feel blissfully secluded, you have plenty of great local options nearby depending on what you need:

    • TP Foods (Closest): Convenience store with fresh baked sourdough and other goodies.

    • Boyne Lake Store: Convenience store with fuel and liquor.

    • Mallaig: Convenience store, liquor store, and a 24-hour cardlock station for fuel that accepts credit cards.

    • Lac La Biche (35 mins): Our nearest larger community. Excellent for full grocery hauls, restaurants, and general shopping.

    • St. Paul & Bonnyville (45 mins): Larger regional hubs with major stores, services, and amenities.

    Pro-Tip: We highly recommend stocking up on your favorite foods and treats on your way to WEC so you can just settle in and relax!
